SPONSOR SIMON HEAPS FOR THE IWASF WORLD GAMES

Do You or your Company want to be associated with a Disabled para Athlete who could be World Champion for only  £100

As you are aware I represent Great Britain at wheelchair table tennis Class 5. I originally lost my right leg in May 2019 but recently lost my left leg as well on 13th January of this year so am now officially a member of the bilateral amputee club !! The attached image was taken in September 2021 before my second amputation operation. I am also 66 years of age and the above was a result of Type 1 Diabetes that I have had since being a 13 year old.

What you may not be aware is that when I represent my country I have to totally self fund and can only do this by my own fundraising efforts which include small sponsorships, charitable grants and donations. Playing International Para table tennis is not cheap as there are tournaments all around the world. My current World ranking is 46 after playing in only 3 International events and also the Great Britain No 3. I have a lot of International experience, albeit as an able bodied athlete, as I played for England on many occasions as a Junior and Senior with the highlight of my career being European Cadet champion in 1970 back in the day !!

I even have to purchase my own Great Britain kit and this is where this is leading.

I currently have no Corporate Sponsor and need your help to raise £5,000

British Para Table Tennis has just launched their new playing and training kit as from 1st March which has to be used at all times when representing Great Britain in sanctioned International events.

I am allowed to display advertising on my shirts, shorts and tracksuit when representing Great Britain.

I am looking for at least 50 businesses to support me and give a minimum of £100 ( or more in multiples of £100 ) to have the following sponsorship opportunities and be drawn out of a hat for 3 very special, tax deductible, ways to market your company. Each £100 gets a chance ( ie: £500 gets you 5 chances in the draw etc )

1st drawn - Full sponsorship on playing shirts, tracksuit and training shirts

2nd drawn – Short sponsorship, tracksuit, and training shirts

3rd drawn – Training shirt sponsorship

Draw will be live on FACEBOOK and done at the end of March

How it works. Just reply to this email saying Yes, provide your company details or business card and I will Invoice your business ( no VAT ), as Sponsorship, and on fast payment received then you are in the draw, it is as simple as that.

***What I would also like you to do regardless of supporting me is to send this to at least 5 other business friends or suppliers with your recommendation to support me in the draw for the above. ***

How can I become World Champion ?

In November of this year will be the IWAS ( International Wheelchair Amputee Sports Federation ) World Games whereby all competitors are wheelchair bound in 10 different sports including table tennis and it is expected that in excess of 3,500 athletes will be taking part across the various events. Because of my ranking and if I play well then I will have a great chance to be crowned World Champion in this amputee only event. This will get good media coverage and I can be used by your marketing teams if you are one of my sponsors. However as a sponsor you can use me for marketing at any time showing your support for a Disabled Sport Athlete.

Where does the money raised go to ?

Firstly it will pay for my new Great Britain kit.

My kit will cost £1055 and even with my supplier discount the final cost is £632.87 !!

But more importantly it will go a long way to pay for my table tennis expenditure for the remainder of the year which includes International Tournament entries, International travel, International accommodation, Coaching costs, wheelchair upkeep, table tennis equipment ( blades and replacement rubbers ),National entry fees, National travel, National accommodation and various residential Training Camps. To date I have spent in excess of £34,000 since June 2019 and all of this has been raised by myself, just proving how expensive getting to the required level to represent your country is and this includes minimal International events because of the pandemic.

In the coming weeks and months I will be competing in Germany twice, Egypt, France and Jordan. These are then followed International Para Opens in  Mexico and Czech Republic in June, Argentina and Thailand in July, Finland in September and Brazil in October before the IWAS World Games in Portugal in November. As you can imagine to self fund these events whilst competing for Great Britain is very costly, hence why I need this financial assistance.

Please support me, £100 goes a long way for me and could be the cheapest marketing spend you have all year.

Thankyou for reading and I look forward to hearing from you and your business acquaintances in the very near future. If you are interested, act now please.

My motto is Dream it, Believe it, Achieve it and with your help I can certainly achieve the £5,000 that I hope to raise.

Kind Regards

Yours in Disabled Sport
